Intentional Advent: Day 1

You are invited to participate in An Intentional Advent! Julie Kay Harbour and Leona Dalavai Scott are teaming up to put together this series on some thoughtful and intentional ways we can prepare our hearts for the Savior’s birth.

Advent is more than a countdown. It’s an intentional preparation and time of reflection for our hearts. It’s a season made up of moments. It is a combination of both looking ahead with expectation and also a time of looking back in remembrance. God was both answering his people’s long-awaited cry and beginning his plan of salvation.

The first week of Advent introduces the theme of HOPE. Hope is more than a feeling. The former teacher in me wants to phrase it as “Hope is more than a noun…it is also a verb.”

Hope is:

* a looking forward to something with desire

* to believe with confidence

I truly believe that HOPE is one of the most powerful things we can be given and that we can give to others.

How can you put hope into action this week?
