Intentional Advent: Day 17
One of my favorite Christmas carols is Hark the Heralds Angels Sing. I love the song’s upbeat nature and it fills my heart with JOY every time I hear it.
Inspired by a Bible Study Fellowship devotional on Christmas hymns, here is a stanza from that carol that invokes JOY:
Hail the Heav’nly Prince of Peace!
Hail the Sun of Righteousness!
Light and Life to All he brings,
Ris’n with Healing in his Wings.
Mild he lays his Glory by,
Born—that Man no more may die,
Born—to raise the Sons of Earth,
Born—to give them Second Birth.
JOY in the life of a believer comes from knowing and believing in the one true Christ – being born again by the Holy Spirit – and the gift of eternal life.
