Intentional Advent: Day 3
One of the joys of Christmas is the music and carols. Many of the carols transport me back to Bethlehem, where Jesus was born. I try to put myself in the shoes of Mary, Joseph, the Wise men, and Shepherds.
Inspired by a Bible Study Fellowship Christmas devotional, here is a stanza from the song, O Come All Ye Faithful:
Yea, Lord, we greet thee Born this happy morning; Jesus, to thee be all glory given! Word of the Father
Now in flesh appearing!
O come, let us adore Him
O come, let us adore Him
O come, let us adore Him, Christ the Lord
The lyrics take us among the shepherds who first journeyed to Bethlehem over 2,000 years ago and with the “faithful” who have journeyed to Bethlehem in their prayers, meditation and worship since then. Although we cannot physically witness Jesus in the manger, we can still travel to Bethlehem in our hearts.
What does it mean to adore Christ the Lord? Or how do you adore Christ the Lord?
