Intentional Living Tips – Week of July 14

July summer

Happy New Week, Friends.

What’s a compliment you’ve received that still lingers with you?

Whether it was in third grade or just last week, a heartfelt compliment has the power to stay with us. One of the best compliments I’ve received is being called a “connector” —
• To people
• To God
• To His Word
• To prayer
• To ideas
• To resources
• To inspiration
• To creativity

…and more!

That’s why I love writing these newsletters. I get to connect you to all of these things.

This Week’s Three-Part Practice

(Borrowed from the “Love God, Love Yourself, Love Others” rhythm.)

PracticeWhat it looks like this week
Loving GodI’m restarting The Daily Connection – a 10-minute guided reflection (thank you, Vicky Dobbs!) that invites God into my day, helps me name gratitudes, ask forgiveness, rest in His light and request His help where I fall short.
Loving MyselfAfter hosting weekend company, I’m trading extra to-dos for rest – reading, journaling and simply being still.
Loving OthersIt’s my husband’s birthday! I’m planning a few small, meaningful surprises to celebrate and encourage him.

How will you be intentional this week in these areas?

Here are a few things I’ve discovered recently that I hope will bless you:

A Song of Grief and Healing – The recent tragedy at Camp Mystic and the flooding in Central Texas left many of us shaken. My friend Julie Kay Harbour wrote a beautiful poem that’s now been set to music. Take a listen, and if it moves you, share it with others who need comfort and hope.

Incourage by DaySpring – A daily blog and podcast filled with hope, truth, and encouragement for women in every season. It’s become a sweet and soul-nurturing part of my quiet time.

Pumpkin Spice for Your Soul by Anna Rendell – I know it’s still summer, but for those of you who live for fall, this devotional will feel like a cozy mug of pumpkin spice latte.

Everyone who tries this Summer Icebox Cake can’t get enough of it. Tip: Blend the cream cheese and vanilla pudding in the food processor for a smoother consistency.
