Intentional Advent: Day 8

You are invited to participate in An Intentional Advent! Julie Kay Harbour and Leona Dalavai Scott are teaming up to put together this series on thoughtful and intentional ways to prepare our hearts for the Savior’s birth.

As we continue our journey through this season of reflection and anticipation, we enter the second week of Advent, focusing on the theme of Peace.

As many churches light the second candle of their Advent wreath, let’s reflect on one title in particular given to the Savior in the words of Isaiah 9:6:

“For to us a child is born, to us a son is given; and the government shall be upon his shoulder, and his name shall be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.”

This scripture reminds us of the ultimate source of peace, the Prince of Peace.

This time of year can become so hectic. We must intentionally carve out time to sit with the Prince Of Peace in order to be filled with peace. Then, we can be better equipped to bring peace to the world that desperately longs for it.

We can be a bearer of peace through small acts of kindness, moments of stillness, or extending forgiveness. How will you bring forth peace this week?
